Beate Ochsner

Beate Ochsner is Professor of Media Studies at the University of Konstanz. Her research is situated at the intersection of media studies and Dis/Ability Studies, with a particular focus on media participation, media ecology, and practices of smart hearing. She was spokesperson of the DFG Research Group “Media and Participation” (2015–2022) and is Co-Director of the Centre for Human | Data | Society at the University of Konstanz. She is also a member of the GRTL in Mannheim. Her publications include authored and co-edited volumes such as Disability and Video Games (Palgrave Macmillan, 2024), Mediale Teilhabe (meson press, 2023), and Techniques of Hearing (Routledge, 2023).
